Waiting for the right script paid off for Diana Penty

After stealing the audience’s heart with her debut movie “Cocktail”, Diana Penty wooed them once again with her performance in “Happy Bhag Jayegi”. The actress says she was waiting for the right script which could give her a character who was as different from her as possible.

Diana said “Cocktail” was a perfect launch vehicle, adding, “As a first time actor, it was helpful to play Meera, a character who was so much like me in real life.” For her second movie she says, “I wanted to see if I could play a character who was as different from me as possible. Happy fit the bill perfectly.”

The actress does not have any regrets about the waiting. She said, “I got to do all the things I loved even while I waited for the right script,” adding, “There was never a dull moment.”

Diana’s “Happy Bhag Jayegi” saw her essay the titular character. The comedy film also featured Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill and Ali Fazal. The movie has been declared a sleeper hit by trade pundits and the actress was lauded for her performance.
